An interactive comic game for children.
Danone – the worlds leading manufacturer of fresh dairy products – asked us to illustrate, colour and animate a new interactive comic game for children, to promote their drinks line ‘Safio’.

Problem
The Challenge
Danone wanted to highlight the health benefit of drinking milk to children. To achieve this, they asked Mystery Box to design an engaging and fully interactive online game for kids, inviting them to playing as Danone's brand character "Safio" as he fights his way through the baddies on his healthy quest.
Thinking
The Approach
The idea was to tie together technology and creative, to attract the attention of children and capture their imagination - all whilst delivering a positive message. After scoping out the plot and drawing the storyboard, we embarked on the creation of over 84 panels of beautifully hand drawn comic panels. Each panel is then meticulously coloured by our resident comic colour artist, before animating each independent asset to develop the story experience.
Result
The Experience
By exploiting the camera technology within smartphone, tablet and desktop devices, we were able to create an interactive experience enabling children to play the role of Safio. Their face was superimposed into the scenes and limited head movements were also tracked to add to the immersive experience. The series resulted in 4 chapters of the game, providing hours of fun - whilst Danone reported a positive increase in sales across the Middle East, where the campaign was deployed.
